About the art:
When Gadon has turned 25 years old and some call it a quarter life crisis, hence the title of this exhibition. The questions were:
Is it just a number? Is it a point of life? A weird second puberty phase? Is the crisis a myth?
Or is it just another day when you blow the candles on top of the cake while a crowd sings “Happy Birthday” while you uncomfortably smile,
feeling like a puppy happy for the attention, deep inside you are grateful for the attention and caring?
It’s like, you won’t even believe it until it happened. Like a flick of a switch, you wanted things and make a goal, and suddenly you changed everything you thought you wanted.
Gadon depicted that turning 25 is the best year to just let it be and let it happen.
Taking the slice of opportunity, even though there is lots of cake on the table, and a lot of choices. Gadon has chosen her piece of whatever that goddamn cake is and she can only eat one piece at a time, and that’s okay.
